Growing up in Corpus Christi, Texas, Cara started singing in the church choir at the age of seven. For Cara, emoting the inspirational songs of her Methodist upbringing was the cornerstone of her beginnings as a talented singer, “The church was my favorite place to sing. My first solo was “Silent Night.” Throughout grammar and high school, Cara cultivated and showcased her talent by participating in a host of local talent shows and musicals. During this time she also performed at various clubs, weddings and benefits in Corpus Christi and surrounding areas.
Her first taste of Hollywood came to a halt at age 14 when she attended, International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) Convention in Hollywood with her Texas Agency, Infinity Model and Talent Agency. She won various model and talent awards including dance and singing, only to leave contracts behind as a pre-teen and fly back to Texas, due to her parents being unable to move to Hollywood as her guardians. Upon returning to Texas Cara went on to become a competition cheerleader performing on ESPN, and won multiple awards including “Who’s Who of American Cheerleaders.” On her 18th birthday, which was the same day she graduated High School, Cara took her chances and left her small Texas town for the lights and stages of New York City. With tons of ambition and heart she set out to make it as a star singing, acting, and performing stand up comedy.
